Customers who have excellent credit scores are being flooded with offers from card companies. The rewards and perks that are being offered are the best since 2008, stated Bill Hardekopf, CEO of a consumer website.
There are a number of enhanced rewards for the new cardholders which include the limited time incentive where they can earn 100,000 miles with Chase British Airways Visa Signature Card. The customers will get 50,000 bonus British Airways miles after they make their first purchase and yet another 50,000 bonus miles after they spend $2,500 using the card within the first 3 months.
The new version of the Chase Freedom Visa Card now offers a cash back bonus of $150 if you spend $500 within the first 3 months after opening the account and Discover will get you Double Cashback bonuses of 2% on purchases up to $500 throughout your birthday month or the month in which you enroll, whichever comes later.
The other excellent awards include 30,000 miles on American Airlines after making purchases worth $750 within the first 4 months using the Citi Gold/Advantage World MasterCard.
Another 25,000 bonus miles as well as $50 cashback would be offered after the first purchase using either the Chase Continental Airlines One Pass Plus Card or the Chase United Mileage Plus Card. Customers will also get $50 statement credit after the first purchase. Another additional 10,000 bonus points are offered by One Pass Plus Card on spends of $25,000 through the year. Around 15,000 bonus points are offered by the bank’s Sapphire card for spending $500 during the first 3 months using the cards.
Hardekopf has stated that these deals normally targeted consumers who had credit scores that were in the good or excellent range of over 750.
These offers are being driven by certain facts. The card issuers are now looking for ways to cut down on their financial risk, stated Hardekopf. And the best way to do it would be to target the prime consumers who have a good to excellent rating. All the lenders are basically going after these consumers and that is creating a lot of competition. This competition is in turn the reason for these perks to get better and better.
However, Hardekopf cautions stating that those who were looking for reward cards must do their homework and look at the fine print before signing up.
